Elmo and Ruddy

Elmo and Ruddy are 2 Huacaya brothers who are now 12 years old. They are

amazing, gentle and handsome boys. Alpacas are supposed to keep foxes away as

the two just don't go together, but as luck would have it we seem to have the only fox

loving alpacas in the world! They are fascinated when they see a fox and when they

had cubs last year, they would spend hours watching them playing in their field.

Alpacas are sheared once a year and have a gorgeous fleece which is quite sought

after, but as we only have two, we would be hard pressed to get a pair of socks from

their wool!

Alpacas walk around with an air of indignation and treat us with utter disdain – we

are definitely their staff! If you want to know what is going on at the sanctuary, follow

the stare of the alpacas, as they are very inquisitive creatures who always keep an

eye on what is going on.
